Journey of Compassion: Uniting Adventure and Charity

Let me embark on a thrilling trip of compassion for you, one where the excitement of adventure meets the just goal of altruism. Today, I want to use the power of the human spirit, collaboration, and exploration to change the world for the better.

What its about

The Hand Project, in collaboration with Small Wonders e.V., is a remarkable initiative that fuses team building with charitable efforts. It is a group of people committed to helping others who, due to their living circumstances, cannot afford prosthetic limbs and other necessary equipment. Together, we raise money, plan trips to developing nations, and provide support to regional organizations so that impacted areas may eventually take care of themselves.

Africa: Overlanding For Charity

In the year 2023, our quest will take us from Cologne, Germany, to Accra, Ghana. This 8,500-kilometer journey will cross 11 nations, including Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, Guinea, the Ivory Coast, and Ghana. It will be demanding, dangerous, and not completely safe. Along the way, we’ll hold a number of limb camps to fit prostheses, raise awareness of the value of these events and the transformative potential of low-cost, straightforward hand prosthetics. 

Our group comprises of two local Ghanaian companions and 18 committed German volunteers. A variety of products, such as tools for building prosthetics, adapters, and 3D printers, are transported in our convoy.

My Part In This

As the expedition’s medical officer for this remarkable venture, I am privileged to witness firsthand the profound transformation it will bring to the lives of the participants and those they will help. I take my role caring for the participants‘ health and wellbeing very seriously.

An important part of a vehicle-based expedition’s success and safety depends on the recovery car. The Overland Cruiser 100 is going to serve that function. Its presence provides peace of mind when negotiating challenging terrain or rescuing stranded vehicles during the expedition.
