Materials & Colors

In regards to looks and feel, we most likely have the highest standards when picking our sexual counterparts. I get it! Outside the norm are a few who are just looking for „in working condition“ as well, but that’s just not me.

When building a home and even though it’s a micro camper van, I would like to feel at home too. Therefore it needs to be comfy and pleasing to the eyes. Eventually I’m going to spend weeks if not months in and around it.

Still, form follows function and I kept that in mind when I chose my color palette and assorted materials.

The Big 4 Surface Areas

Flooring, Cushions, Countertop and Cabinet Fronts – These are the big 4 who will most likely have the biggest impact on the look of your interior.

In general, the darker the surfaces the smaller the space will appear. The other way around a lighter color will feel more spacious. The catch 22 here is that in terms of functionality a darker surface may not show much staining but show scratches and dirt way easier. In contrast lighter colors, especially white will easier show any staining or discoloration but less dust or dirt.
